Kentucky Women’s Soccer Travels to Tennessee on Sunday Afternoon

by Tommy Scott

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Kentucky (5-5-2, 0-3-0 SEC) travels to Tennessee (6-3-1, 0-2-0 SEC) on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET at Regal Soccer Stadium. This game will be broadcast nationally on SEC Network with Mike Watts and Jill Loyden on the call.

The Wildcats come into this game after losing 2-1 to Mississippi State on Sunday afternoon. UK led the majority of the contest and looked likely to see the game through until the end when the Bulldogs struck twice in the final five minutes of the game to steal all three points.

For Kentucky, freshman forward Hannah Richardson leads the team in goals scored with eight through 11 games played, while fellow freshman forward Jordyn Rhodes has four goals and an assist through 12 games played.

The Volunteers enter this contest coming off of two 1-0 losses in their first two SEC games to Vanderbilt and Auburn. This will be UT’s first home SEC game of the season. Tennessee is led by MA Vignola, who has recorded five goals and three assists through 10 games played. Katie Cousins leads the team in assists with four.

Looking forward, the Wildcats will host South Carolina on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET at The Bell. That game will be streamed live on SEC Network+ with Dave Baker and Payton Atkins on the call.
