Kentucky Women’s Soccer Falls to No. 14 Texas A&M on Thursday Night
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Kentucky (5-4-2, 0-2-0 SEC) fell, 6-1, to No. 14 Texas A&M (8-1-2, 2-0-0 SEC) on Thursday night at Ellis Field. Two goals and an assist from Ally Watt helped pace the Aggies on the night. Hannah Richardson scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in the 74th minute.
Texas A&M showed its class throughout the night with six goals from five different players against a UK team that featured 11 freshmen on the night. A matchup with the top-15 Aggies presented an important opportunity for Kentucky’s youth to gain experience against a strong side like Texas A&M.
For the Wildcats, freshman goalkeeper Steph Stull recorded 10 saves while Richardson got her seventh goal of the season. Overall though, it was a tough night for UK as the squad will now look to rebound on Sunday afternoon against Mississippi State.
Next Match:
Kentucky will host Mississippi State on Sunday at 2 p.m. at The Bell. That game will be streamed live on SEC Network+ with Dave Baker and Payton Atkins on the call.
