Kentucky Women’s Soccer Hosts Indiana on Sunday Afternoon
LEXINGTON, Ky.- Kentucky (5-0-2) hosts Indiana (3-3-0) on Sunday at 2 p.m. at The Bell. This matchup will be streamed live on SEC Network+ with Dave Baker and Payton Atkins on the call.
The Wildcats are on a five-game win-streak and haven’t allowed a goal in the last 418 minutes of play dating back to UK’s third game of the season in a 4-2 win over George Mason. During these last five games, Kentucky has outscored its opponents 13-2.
The Wildcats enter this contest with the Hoosiers after a 2-0 win on Thursday afternoon at Eastern Kentucky. Late goals from freshmen Alex Fava (87th minute) and Hannah Richardson (90th minute) made the difference for UK in its win over the Colonels.
Richardson now leads the team in goals scored with five while freshman Jordyn Rhodes has scored four to go along with one assist. Six different players have assisted goals for the Wildcats, including Foster Ignoffo and Miranda Jimenez who have two each.
Indiana comes into this game after a 2-1 win over UT Martin on Thursday night. Chandra Davidson and Avery Lockwood lead the Hoosiers in goals scored with three apiece while nine different players have an assist for Indiana.
Looking forward, Kentucky opens up its Southeastern Conference schedule by hosting Auburn on Thursday at 7 p.m. at The Bell. That game will be televised nationally on SEC Network.
