UK Men’s Soccer Unveils 2019 Fall Schedule
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team announced its fall 2019 schedule, which includes three games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season.
Five teams on UK’s upcoming schedule finished last season in the top -50 RPI.
Kentucky will open the season Aug. 30 against Albany at the Vickie & Wendell Bell Soccer Complex.
UK travels to Louisville on September 3 in a derby match that’s become an annual day-after Labor Day tradition in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Kentucky will play its first Conference USA match at Charlotte on Sept. 15. The 49ers made the NCAA Tournament a year ago and the two sides last played in the 2018 C-USA Tournament Final in Charlotte.
Kentucky will finish the season hosting UAB (Nov. 9) before heading down to Norfolk, Va., for the Conference USA Tournament.
Kentucky returns nine regular starters — including All-Americans Enrique Facusse and Aimé Mabika, in addition to All-Conference selections Kalil ElMedkhar, Jason Reyes and Leon Jones — from their record-setting 2018 season. Last fall, UK won the Conference USA double, set the school record for wins, reached the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, went 5-1 against top-25 opponents and welcomed multiple 3,000-plus crowds to The Bell to name but a few accomplishments.
