Roberts, Hall win USTFCCCA All-SE Region Awards
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky track and field was well represented within the Southeast Region in this year’s outdoor awards announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Daniel Roberts was named Men’s Runner of the Year, repeating the honor he earned during the 2019 indoor season.
Tim Hall picked up Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year, also repeating the honor he picked up indoors earlier this year.

The junior from Hampton, Virginia, is in the midst of historic season. At the SEC Championships, he tied the second fastest mark in collegiate history in the 110-Meter Hurdles when he went 13.07 to win the event title. A few weeks later, Roberts went 13.13 at the NCAA East Preliminary Round for what is now the second best mark in NCAA Championships history. Roberts also posted a victory in a stacked field at the Drake Relays that included reigning Olympic and world champion Omar McLeod.

Hall, who returned to the UK staff ahead of the 2018-19 season had five athletes advance to outdoor nationals, which includes the work he did with Daniel Roberts, the SEC Runner of the Year and Tai Brown, the SEC Freshman of the Year, respectively. Roberts won the SEC 110H title with the second-fastest time in collegiate history (13.07), just .07 seconds off the 40-year old collegiate record. Brown was Freshman All-SEC and broke Robert’s UK freshman record in the 110H (13.57). Dwight St. Hillaire qualified for NCAAs and was a SEC silver medalist in the 400. Jacob Smith also earned SEC All-Freshman team honors with his performance at the meet. UK’s 4×100 unit also took fourth at SECs.
