Kentucky Travels to Bowling Green to face Western Kentucky
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky baseball team will step out of Southeastern Conference play on Tuesday night with a trip to Bowling Green to face in-state opponent Western Kentucky at Bowling Green Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET at the home of minor league baseball’s Bowling Green Hot Rods.
The Wildcats and the Hilltoppers met last month in Lexington with the Cats winning 15-0 that day. Junior T.J. Collett tripled and homered and drove in four runs, junior Dalton Reed drove in four runs and freshman left-hander Dillon Marsh allowed just one hit and no runs in four innings of work to get the win on the mound. The Hilltoppers managed just three total hits in the game.
The last time UK traveled to Bowling Green it defeated the Hilltoppers 4-3 in Bowling Green Ballpark. The Cats have won four straight in the series.
UK has faced the nation’s seventh-most difficult schedule to this point and the 23 games it has played against the current RPI Top 30 are the most in the country. Seventeen of the past 23 games have been against ranked foes, including the last seven contests.
