Daniel Roberts Named to The Bowerman Watch List Post-Indoor
LEXINGTON, Ky. –Kentucky track and field junior Daniel Roberts was named to latest edition of The Bowerman Watch List, which was compiled following the completion of the NCAA Indoor Championships last weekend.
Roberts is running historically fast, even though wins have been hard to come by. Roberts finished runner-up to Florida’s Grant Holloway in the 60-meter hurdles at both the Southeastern Conference Championships and the NCAA Championships with all-time top-10 marks.
The Wildcat bettered the old collegiate record at NCAAs (7.41) second all-time only to Holloway’s record to win the same race. Two weeks prior, he clocked what is now the 10th fastest time in collegiate history at the SEC Championships (7.48).
Roberts scored eight points in the 60H at NCAAs and SECs, and also took fourth place in the 60m dash at SECs in addition to scoring in the 4x400m relay.
UK will start the outdoor season this weekend at the UTSA Invitational Friday-Saturday, March 15-16 in San Antonio.
The next Watch List will be released April 18. The Bowerman is awarded annually by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) to the top men’s and women’s competitor in collegiate track and field.
