The Kentucky women’s tennis team will resume its conference schedule on Sunday when they host Missouri. The Tigers began their league campaign Friday, falling to the 2018 national runner-ups in No. 7 Vanderbilt. Missouri put together a touted record up until its league opener, crafting a 10-1 mark in dual matches this season.

Kentucky is ahead of Missouri in the conference standings and they hold the all-time winning mark over the Tigers by a 6-0 record. UK and Lipscomb have never met in the regular season.

Several Wildcats are receiving conference and national recognition for their performances. Notably, freshman Tiphanie Fiquet is unbeaten in 10 singles matches and 10 doubles matches. She collected her tenth win on each court Friday. The rookie from Nice, France, won SEC Freshman of the Week Wednesday, making her third honor this season.

Senior Justina Mikulskyte, the 46th-best singles player in the nation, defeated No. 81 Tatum Rice Friday by a 6-0, 6-2 outcome. With her victory, she carded the first singles point Friday to set the standard. Mikulskyte has put together a 7-1 mark in singles this year, while each of her victories came on court one.

The doubleheader on Sunday is the last opportunity to see the Wildcats at home until the program returns to Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center Friday, March 22 to host Florida.
