Kalil ElMedkhar Named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s soccer sophomore Kalil ElMedkhar was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
ElMedkhar earned the honor for the second time this season, having previously been named C-USA Player of the Week on Oct. 1.
The winger produced a team-high seven points in UK’s two wins last week. The sophomore scored three goals and tallied an assist over two matches, which the Wildcats won by a combined 9-1 margin.
He started the scoring in a 3-0 shutout at Ohio State Tuesday. Against New Mexico on Sunday at The Bell, ElMedkhar scored a first-half brace and assisted in the second half to propel Kentucky to a 6-1 victory.
He now has 20 points, second on the team to JJ Williams, and tied for tenth most by a Wildcat in a single campaign.
Kentucky returns to The Bell on Wednesday against Evansville to conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule. UK, which is in a three-way tie atop the C-USA table, returns to league play on Sunday at FAU.
