No. 5 Kentucky Returns to The Bell Saturday v Marshall

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 5/4-ranked Kentucky men’s soccer team will return to The Bell Saturday for another crucial Conference USA matchup against Marshall.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET with SEC Network+/WatchESPN set to stream the match.
 
The setup
Kentucky (9-1-1, 3-1-0 C-USA) currently sits third on the league table with nine points from four games.  Marshall (4-5-2, 1-1-1 C-USA) occupies the fifth-place spot on four points.
 
The Wildcats will be returning home for the first game since a record crowd of 3,503 was on hand to see UK win 3-0 against then-No. 2 Indiana on Wednesday, Oct. 3. UK is coming off its first loss of the year, 3-2 at FIU last Sunday, the Wildcats’ first dropped points in league play so far.
 
Marshall defeated Purdue Fort Wayne 3-0 in its last game on Tuesday.
 
The closer look at Kentucky
The Wildcats have allowed six goals in 11 games so far, with half of those having come last Sunday at FIU. UK’s .532 goals-against average is ranked sixth in the nation.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Enrique Facusse has stopped 31 of the 37 shots he’s faced this year. His 84-percent save percentage is ranked 14th nationally.

The Wildcats have scored 21 goals this season, with nine having been scored by junior co-captain JJ Williams leading the way with nine, tied-third-most by a player in C-USA.
 
UK is 6-0 at home this season, and have scored 12 and conceded none at The Bell to date.
 
The opponent
T
he Thundering Herd boasts a notable in-conference victory against Old Dominion, which is currently second in conference standings having only dropped points against Marshall.
 
Marshall is led by sophomore forward JP Rylah, who has the team-best three goals on the season.

The history
Kentucky leads the all-time series against Marshall 19-9-3, but The Thundering Herd has won two in a row – twice last year by 1-0 scorelines, once in Huntington, W.Va., and again in the first round of the C-USA Tournament.
 
The logistics
Gates will open at 6 p.m.
 
Tickets are $8 for the public, $5 for seniors and $3 for youths. Wildcat supporters five-years-old and under get in for free.

Season ticket holders can pick up their scarves at the marketing gazebo on match day.

Parking for the match is first come first served located outside the stadium’s main entrance and in the Kroger Field blue and green lots with continuous shuttle service running from car parks up to the front gates of The Bell beginning at 6 p.m.

The shuttle will continue until one hour after the match.
 
Students may ride a campus shuttle to and from the match, which begins running one hour prior to kickoff and includes stops at The 90 and the wildcat statue on north campus.

UK players will sign autographs on the side of the pitch following the match weather permitting.
