Isaiah Briscoe Leads Team to Championship; Hawkins Also Honored

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Former Kentucky men’s basketball player Isaiah Briscoe is a champion once again. After helping lead Kentucky to a pair of regular season and Southeastern Conference Tournament championships in his two seasons with the Wildcats, Briscoe claimed a title in his first season as a professional player in Estonia.
 
Briscoe scored 20 points in the title game for BC Kalev/Cramo. His squad downed Tartu Urikool, 99-83, to complete the sweep in a best-of-seven series.
 
The Newark, New Jersey, native was also named one of the top performers in the Estonia league alongside another former Wildcat in Dominique Hawkins. Both players were also All-Stars.
 
Briscoe put on a show in the Estonia/Latvia All-Star Game winning MVP honors and claiming the 3-point shooting crown. He scored an eye-popping 50 points in the all-star game.
 
Briscoe started 69 of the 70 games he played in and averaged 10.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists during his two-year college career. He averaged careers highs in points (12.1), rebounds (5.4) and assists (4.2) in 2016-17. Among his many highlights, Briscoe became the third Wildcat in program history to post a triple-double when he recorded 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in the SEC opener at Ole Miss on Dec. 29.
 
Hawkins appeared in 121 career games during a four-year stint that included appearances in two Final Fours, winning three SEC regular-season championships and three SEC Tournament titles. The Richmond, Kentucky, native scored 293 career points and dished out 103 assists. He saved his most productive season for his last, averaging 4.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He knocked down a career-high 22 3-pointers and scored 10 or more points in three of his final five games. Hawkins was named to the SEC All-Tournament team after scoring a career-high 14 points in the title game against Arkansas.
