LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky senior Cooper Musselman was named to the Southeastern Conference’s Men’s Golf Community Service team on Thursday. Musselman is UK’s representative on the 14-man team that honors players’ exemplary service to their communities.

Musselman has been a mainstay in community events throughout his career with the Wildcats. He has volunteered to make dinner and clean at the Ronald McDonald House in Lexington. He’s also served at the Lighthouse Ministries. The Louisville, Kentucky, native has been a willing participant in the UK God’s Pantry backpack program packing lunches for local students and delivering them to schools. Furthermore, he has made blankets for children at the UK Children’s Hospital around the holiday season.

Musselman’s community efforts have focused on giving back to the game of golf. He’s volunteered at the national student-athlete day and worked numerous golf clinics both in the Lexington community and throughout the country.

A recent 2018 graduate of Kentucky with a degree in communication, Musselman and the Wildcats will return to action at the Bryan Regional near College Station, Texas, on Monday. UK is one of 81 teams competing for the field of 30 at the NCAA Championship later this month. The Wildcats must finish in the top five of their regional to advance.

On the course, Musselman has started all 10 events this season for the Wildcats. He has a team-high four top-10 finishes, including an individual victory in the Crooked Stick Invitational, also helping UK to a win.

He has appeared in 42 events during his career with 20 top-20 finishes and 11 inside of the top 10. His career stroke average sits at 72.89, and he’s shooting a career-low 71.80 during his senior campaign. Musselman has notched 18 par-or-better rounds this season and has shot a career-low score of a 67 during the second round of the Bearcat Invitational, while also compiling a career-low tournament score of 207 at the same event.
