Team Records and Series Notes
-Kentucky falls to 8-3 this season, while Miami rises to 6-3.
-Matthew Mitchell is in his 11th season as head coach at Kentucky. He is the winningest head coach in program history at 249-103.
-After today’s game, Kentucky still owns a 6-2 record in the all-time series against Miami.

  • The two teams met last year on Nov. 11 in Lexington, with UK picking up a 82-66 victory.
  • UK also holds a 53-39 all-time record against teams from the current alignment of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

-Kentucky will have a week-long break for finals before returning to Memorial Coliseum to face Louisville on Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on SEC Network and on the UK Sports Radio Network with Darren Headrick calling the action.

-Kentucky used the starting combination of senior Alyssa Rice, senior Makenzie Cann, junior Taylor Murray, junior Maci Morris and freshman Tatyana Wyatt.

  • UK is 0-2 with that starting-five combination.

-The first quarter was back and forth until UK took a 13-12 lead with 3:07 left and did not trail again in the period.

  • UK led 18-14 at the end of the first quarter.

-Both teams saw scoring droughts in the second quarter, with neither team scoring a point until Kameron Roach made a midrange jumper with 5:12 to go.

  • Kentucky outscored Miami 12-9 in the second quarter.

-Miami took a 39-38 lead with 5:14 left in the third quarter and UK would not lead again.
-In the third quarter, Miami outscored the Wildcats 28-18.

  • Miami’s 28 third-quarter points were the second-most allowed by Kentucky in a quarter this season behind Baylor’s 29 second-quarter points on Nov. 30.

-Today’s game marked Kentucky’s first loss of the season after leading at halftime.
-Kentucky shot a season-low 31.7 percent from the floor.

  • UK went just 7-of-29 from the field in the second half for 24.1 percent.

 
Player Notes
Maci Morris led all scorers in the game, scoring 18 points to go along with seven rebounds.

  • It was her tenth game in double-digits this season and the sixth time she’s led UK in scoring.
  • She also added one assist, one block and two steals.

Alyssa Rice recorded her second career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

  • Her 12 rebounds were a career high for the senior.
  • It was her fourth game this season in double-digit scoring and the seventh time in her career.
  • It was just the second time in her career she’s recorded double-digit rebounds.
