Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky is now 7-1 this season, while Tennessee Tech falls to 1-6 overall.
  • Matthew Mitchell is in his 11th season as head coach at Kentucky. He is the winningest head coach in program history at 248-101.
  • After today’s game, Kentucky leads the all-time series between the two programs 9-6.
    • Kentucky is 7-0 in games played in Lexington in the series.
  • The Wildcats moved up to No. 20 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 and are ranked No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

  • Kentucky used the starting combination of senior Alyssa Rice, senior Makenzie Cann, junior Taylor Murray, junior Maci Morris and freshman KeKe McKinney.

    • UK is 1-1 with that starting-five combination.
  • The Wildcats started hot, shooting 9-of-12 (.750) from the floor in the first quarter including a perfect 3-of-3 from long range.
  • UK stretched a 6-0 run at the end of the first stanza into the second for a 13-0 run overall.
    • It was UK’s seventh run of 10-0 or better this season.
  • Kentucky used a second 10-0 run to end the first half and take a 49-24 lead into the break.
    • The 25-point lead at the half was UK’s largest of the game at that point.
  • The Wildcats limited Tennessee Tech to just 28.6 percent shooting in the first half.
  • UK built its lead to as many as 31 in the middle of the third quarter, giving Kentucky’s bench players some quality playing time.
  • In the fourth quarter, Kentucky had its largest lead of the game at 80-47 with 3:49 to play.
  • Kentucky’s bench outscored Tennessee Tech’s, 36-10.
    • UK matched its season high with 36 points off the bench.

  • Twelve UK players scored in the game for the first time this season.

Player Notes

  • Maci Morris scored a game-high 16 points to go along with six rebounds and three blocks.

    • Her three blocks tied a career-high set earlier this season vs. Gardner-Webb.
    • Morris remained the only UK player to have scored in double-digits in every game this season.
      • She has scored in double figures in 12 straight games dating back to last season.
    • Going 2-of-3 from long range today, the junior has made multiple 3s in seven of eight games this season.
    • Morris now has 125 career 3s which ranks her seventh most all time.
  • Tatyana Wyatt added 12 points, three rebounds, three blocks and two assists off the bench.
    • It was the first game in her career she’s recorded a block.
    • This was Wyatt’s second game back after missing five games due to being in concussion protocol.
  • KeKe McKinney scored a season-high nine points, plus five boards, one assist and two blocks.
    • Her four offensive rebounds were also a season high.
  • Jaida Roper led UK with six assists, matching her career high.
    • She also added seven points and four rebounds.
    • It was the fourth time this season she’s led UK in assists.
  • Dorie Harrison contributed seven points and seven rebounds in the victory.
    • Her seven rebounds were a team high.
    • The freshman also had a season-high five offensive boards.
