Kentucky Continues Road Stretch Sunday at No. 11 Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 13 Kentucky women’s tennis team will finish up its weekend of competition with a mid-day match against No. 11 Auburn on Sunday, with the first serve set for noon ET.
The Wildcats saw their four-match win streak come to an end on Friday evening as they fell to No. 45 Alabama, 4-2. Kentucky (12-3, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) holds the edge in the all-time series against the Tigers, 23-12.
KENTUCKY ATHLETES IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Kentucky’s veteran duo of senior Aldila Sutjiadi and junior Mami Adachi moved up to fourth this week in the ITA rankings. They began 2017 as the nation’s top-ranked tandem after winning their first national title at the UTSA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Nov. 22. The twosome is 9-4 in the spring season, including a 3-2 mark in SEC play.
Individually, Sutjiadi is UK’s top-ranked singles player, holding the No. 19 singles spot. In the fall season, Sutjiadi won the singles title at the 2016 Ohio Valley Regional Championships. The senior owns a 5-5 record in dual matches this season all at No. 1 singles.
Sophomore Akvile Paražinskaite re-entered the singles rankings this week at No. 125, after downing then-No. 65 Christina Rosca of Vanderbilt on Saturday. Paražinskaite owns a 10-2 record in dual matches this season, including a 4-2 mark in league action.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Auburn (18-5, 2-4 SEC) has lost four straight matches, including falling to No. 8 Vanderbilt 5-2 in its most recent contest on Friday.
The Tigers’ roster features three ranked singles players in No. 34 Alizee Michaud, No. 78 Andie Dikosavljevic and No. 85 Taylor Russo along with two ranked doubles teams in No. 14 Michaud/Russo and No. 54 Caroline Turner/Georgie Axon.

The Wildcats will return home next weekend to No. 18 Arkansas on Friday and No. 44 Missouri on Sunday.
