Higgins and Masterton Headed to Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Senior Kyle Higgins and sophomore Seb Masterton are set to represent Kentucky at the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships this week in Indianapolis.
The championships will take place from March 22-25 at the IU Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), with the Wildcats beginning action on Thursday.
Higgins will make his third consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships this year, competing in three events for Kentucky. Higgins earned his invite for the championships in the 200-yard butterfly, which he’ll swim on Saturday. Higgins’ comes into the meet as the No. 18 seed in the race with his qualifying time of 1:42.66. The senior will also swim the 500 freestyle and the 100 fly, having posted B cuts in both.
Sophomore diver Seb Masterton makes his return to the national meet after qualifying on both springboards at the Zone C Diving Championships earlier this month. Masterton finished sixth in the 3-meter dive and eighth in the 1-meter at zones. The sophomore also finished fifth at this year’s SEC Championships on 3-meter.
ESPN3.com will stream the championships finals sessions live on Friday and Saturday. All other sessions will be streamed live on NCAA.com and indianasportscorp.org/ncaasd. Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour broadcast via tape delay at 7 p.
