LEXINGTON, Kentucky – A pair of Wildcats were named to the 2017 National Rifle Association Collegiate All-America Team. Heather Kirby was named a first team All-American in air rifle for the third consecutive year while Hanna Carr was named to the All-America second team in smallbore.
Kirby closed out her senior season with 593.93 air rifle average and shot a career-best 598 in the discipline on Nov. 6, 2016, which led the Cats to their first top-10 win of the season over then-No. 8 Nebraska. The Shelbyville, Kentucky, native matched her former career-high score (596) just two days before she broke it and fired her highest aggregate score of the season – 1181.
