Wildcats Finalize NCAA Rosters with Conclusion of Zone Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Kentucky divers wrapped up their weekend at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday. With the conclusion of the competition, the Wildcats have finalized their rosters for the upcoming NCAA Championships this month.
Sophomore Courtney Clark was the lone Wildcat to compete on the day, advancing to the women’s platform finals for the second consecutive season. Clark finished up the prelims in 10th place after tallying a 233.85, but came up short of an automatic qualifying score as she finished 11th overall with a cumulative score of 476.55. Senior Rebecca Hamperian had initially begun the platform competition, but did not finish the preliminary round.
Although the men had qualified two divers to compete on platform, they chose to forgo the competition.
Hamperian and sophomore Seb Masterton will make their return to the NCAA Championships later this month as each qualified on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards earlier this week. In all, Kentucky qualified twelve student-athletes for this season’s NCAA Championships.
The 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will kick off next week as the women’s championships will be held March 15-18. The men’s meet will take place the following week, March 22-25. Both championships will be in Indianapolis this season, hosted by IUPUI and the Indiana Sports Corporation.
