KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Kentucky women’s tennis team will continue its Southeastern Conference opening weekend against the 12th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday afternoon. Action is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET at the Goodfriend Tennis Center.
The Wildcats (8-2, 0-1 SEC) are coming off their first conference match of the season in which they suffered a 4-1 setback to Georgia.
The Volunteers own a 23-18 advantage over Kentucky in the overall series between the two programs. In their last meeting, Kentucky picked up a 4-2 victory over UT.

KENTUCKY ATHLETES IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
As a team, the Wildcats come in at No. 30 in the Oracle/ITA Division I team rankings.
Kentucky’s veteran duo of senior Aldila Sutjiadi and junior Mami Adachi are ranked fifth among Division I pairs. They began 2017 as the nation’s top-ranked tandem after winning their first national title at the UTSA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Nov. 22. The twosome are 7-2 in the spring season, with both their losses coming to pairs ranked inside the top 20.
Individually, Sutjiadi is UK’s top-ranked singles player, holding the No. 13 singles spot. In the fall season, Sutjiadi won the singles title at the 2016 Ohio Valley Regional Championships. The senior holds a 4-2 record in dual matches this season. Against Georgia, Sutjiadi was up 1-0 in the third set against No. 62 Ellen Perez.

SCOUTING TENNESSEE
The Volunteers are 13-2 overall, 0-1 in league play after dropping their SEC opener to No. 14 Vanderbilt 6-1.
At No. 93 in the ITA singles rankings, senior Brittany Lindl is the only ranked player for the Volunteers. Lindl secured UT’s only point in the match against Vanderbilt, winning 7-6 (2), 2-1 against fifth-ranked Astra Sharma as she retired due to illness.
