Team Records and Series Notes

Matthew Mitchell is in his 10th season with Kentucky. Mitchell drops to 264-125 overall as a head coach, and 234-96 during his tenure at Kentucky.
– UK falls to 6-2 in the all-time series against Missouri.
o This was Missouri’s first win against Kentucky on its home court. 
o Kentucky still leads the series 2-1 in Columbia.
– Kentucky will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 2 as they return home to take on No. 4 South Carolina. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network. The game also will be broadcast live on the UK Sports Network with Neil Price.

– Kentucky used the starting five of Makayla Epps, Evelyn Akhator, Maci Morris, Alyssa Rice and Taylor Murray
o UK is now 12-5 this season with that starting-five combination.
– With today’s loss, UK falls to 15-7 overall this season.
o UK is now 6-3 in Southeastern Conference games.
– UK is 14-2 overall and 6-1 in league play when leading at the half this season.
– Tonight’s game marked the end of Kentucky’s five-game win streak.
– Kentucky trailed by one point (15-14) at the end of the first quarter, but went 11-of-12 from the free throw line in the second quarter to hold onto a 31-30 lead at halftime.
– It was a back-and-forth game that saw 14 lead changes and 10 ties. 
– Missouri took a 44-43 lead with 2:01 to go in the third quarter and the Tigers would not relinquish the lead.
– UK made one final push late in the game to cut Missouri’s 12-point fourth quarter lead, as Makayla Epps and Jaida Roper each made 3-pointers in the final minute.
– Both teams posted 30 points in the paint, but Missouri made seven 3-pointers to Kentucky’s four.
– UK out-rebounded the Tigers off the offensive glass 16-13, but on the defensive end MU won the battle 20-15.
o The Tigers had 19 second-chance points. 
– Kentucky’s seven assists ties its lowest assist total in SEC play this season.

Individual Notes

– Makayla Epps led all scorers with 20 points to go along with four rebounds and one assist.
o Epps’ 1,574 career points puts her at No. 7 on Kentucky’s all-time scoring list.
o It was her eighth game with 20 or more points this season and 27th time in her career.
– Taylor Murray poured in 18 points and grabbed a career-high tying 13 rebounds.
o Murray set a new career high with eight offensive board.
o She also made a career-high 10 free throws, going 10-of-10 from the line.
– Maci Morris added 14 points, one rebound and one assist for the Wildcats.
o Going 1-of-5 from beyond the arc tonight, Morris has made at least one 3-pointer in each of the last five games.
o The performance marked her 14th double-digit scoring game this season and the 29th of her career.
Jaida Roper scored a career-high tying seven points.
o She also tied her career rebounding mark with three boards.
