LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 6 Kentucky gymnastics posted a score over 195
for the fourth time this season but fell to LSU, 197.475 – 195.750. UK drops to
2-2 on the season and 1-2 in Southeastern Conference action. Kentucky has a quick
turnaround as they return to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Ball State.

“Basically, that was an off night for us,” head coach Tim Garrison said. “That’s
the way I’m looking at it. I think we have a very strong team. We got a
respectable score that we are all disappointed about. The fact that is true is
a step in the right direction and a change in expectation for the program. We
aren’t going to dwell on this meet.”

The Wildcats hit above 49 on bars and the floor, with their best on bars
at 49.125. Freshman Mollie Korth came up with a career-high score of 9.925 as
the anchor on bars, helping her secure a share of the individual crown. Sophomore
Alex Hyland and Katie Carlisle both hit 9.825.

Sophomore Sidney Dukes led the way on floor, posting a 9.925 to help give
the Wildcats a team score of 49.075. Hyland put up another impressive score of
9.875 on the floor.

Korth and Hyland tied for second in the all-around with scores of 39.300
each. Kennedi Edney took the all-around title with a score of 39.625.

VAULT

Kentucky posted a 48.575 on vault, paced by Korth with a score of 9.850.
Alaina Kwan followed with a career best of 9.775. Hyland posted a 9.700 and
sophomore Katie Stuart scored a 9.675.

BARS

UK hit a 49.125 on bars, its highest score of the night. Korth came
through with a career best 9.925, while Hyland and Carlisle posted scores of
9.825. Junior Cori Rechenmacher and Dukes followed with 9.775s.

“I thought bars were pretty strong
today,” Garrison said. “The only part I didn’t care for was the execution of
the landings. We were stepping all over and that really carried all the way
through to beam and floor. We stepped when we normally don’t step and we wobbled
when we don’t normally wobble. We made mistakes we usually don’t see in
training and haven’t seen in competition recently.”

BEAM

Kentucky put up a 48.975 on beam, led by
a 9.9 from Hyland. Rechenmacher followed with a season high 9.850, and Dukes
posted a 9.825. Korth scored a 9.750, while freshman Hailey Poland and Stuart
came in at 9.625.

FLOOR

The Wildcats hit a score of 49.075 on
the floor, and Dukes led the way with a 9.925. Hyland put up a solid 9.875,
while Rechenmacher followed at 9.850. Korth put up a 9.750, including a 0.10
deduction for stepping out. Stuart also contributed with a 9.700.
