UK Athletics is one of the few athletic departments in the country to operate self-sufficiently, with no state or university funds. Our mission is to provide the resources necessary to ensure all University of Kentucky student-athletes have the opportunity to achieve academic and athletic success.
The K Fund is responsible for providing financial resources for 386 student-athlete scholarships, and the chart below provides a cost breakdown for a full-scholarship for in-state and out-of-state student-athletes. The total annual student-athlete scholarship cost has increased 211 percent since 2002-03; increasing from $5.3 million to $16.5 million in 2016-17.
Your support through general donations, along with annual seat donations associated with football and men’s basketball season tickets, is vital in funding student-athlete scholarships at the University of Kentucky.
