Bushamuka, Matsumura Wrap Up Play at ITA All-American Championships

Men’s Singles Bracket | Men’s Consolation Bracket

TULSA, Okla. – Junior Will Bushamuka and sophomore Ryotaro Matsumura of Kentucky
men’s tennis wrapped up the 2016 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s
All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus
of the University of Tulsa this weekend.

Bushamuka fell to Christian Seraphim of Wake Forest, 6-4, 6-4 in
the round of 32 on Saturday. Bushamuka advanced to the round of 32 after
defeating Majed Kilani of Tulsa 6-3, 6-3.

Matsumura dropped to Herkko Pollanen of Ohio State 6-2, 7-5 in the
opening round of the ITA All-American Championships, bumping him to the
consolation bracket. Matsumura picked up one win in that bracket by taking down
Alexandru Ghilea of Oklahoma 6-4, 6-4 on Friday. Matsumura was defeated in the men’s
consolation bracket round of 16 to Nuno Borges of Mississippi State 6-1, 6-4.

The 2016 Saint Francis Health ITA Men’s All-American
Championships span from Oct. 6 – Oct. 10. Live stats and live streaming of
All-American play is available through Streaming Tennis. Following UK men’s
tennis’ play in the All-American Championships, the team will head to
Knoxville, Tenn. To compete in regional play beginning on Thursday, Oct. 20.
