Kentucky Soccer Announces Inaugural Fan Day
LEXINGTON, Ky. –The University of Kentucky soccer
program has announced that for the first time in program history, the teams
will be holding a Fan Day to celebrate the start of the 2016 soccer season at
the world-class Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.
The event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13
with gates to the stadium opening at 3:30 p.m. ET. Fans will have an
opportunity to purchase their 2016 season ticket scarves, meet and greet both
the men’s and women’s soccer teams, get autographs from their favorite Wildcat
players, get a photo taken with players and coaches, watch a soccer skill
challenge, and enjoy free pizza and drinks compliments of UK Athletics.
Following the Fan Day experience, the UK
women’s soccer team will be playing their only exhibition of the season against
the Pittsburgh Panthers at 7 p.m. ET that night at The Bell. Admission will be
free with no television or streaming coverage of the match.
UK’s men’s soccer program is coming off of a
2015 Conference USA regular season championship and will look to go
back-to-back in 2016 with the women’s team looking to make it five NCAA
Tournament appearances in the last six seasons.
Fans will have their best chance to hear from
players and coaches what to expect on the pitch for 2016 and do it free of
charge at the best stadium for college soccer in the country.
