Football Season Ticket Update: 81% Renewal Rate for 2016

With the countdown to kickoff of the 2016 Kentucky football season now under 100 days, approximately 81 percent of fans who purchased season tickets in 2015 have renewed their tickets for 2016.
As of May 27, 31,841 K Fund and public season tickets had been purchased for 2016. This number excludes the majority of student season tickets and comp tickets that are expected to total approximately 6,500. In 2015, the final number of K Fund and public season tickets out was 38,658, including student season tickets and comp tickets.
For the sake of comparison, here are the final number of season tickets out for each season, beginning in 2010.
UK Athletics continues to work hard to both sell season tickets and thank those who have already purchased. Just last weekend, UK Athletics hosted tours of Commonwealth Stadium for season ticket holders who renewed early as part of a campaign to reward loyalty. Fans can purchase season tickets by visiting ukfootballtix.com. The football season ticket upgrade process is also underway for those who have already renewed. Fans interested in upgrading their seats who do not already have an upgrade appointment time may call (800) 928-2287 for more information.
Standard season tickets are available for $280 and corresponding K Fund donation, depending on seat location. Thousands of tickets with no K Fund donation attached remain available, including new $210 public season tickets in Sections 201-203 and 209-211.
This new ticket option is the latest example of UK Athletics working to provide affordable football tickets to its loyal fans. For the second straight season, standard season tickets are available at a per-game cost of $40, with last year’s eight-game home schedule bumping the total price to $320. Standard season ticket prices have remained close to fixed every year since 2010, with per-game prices sitting at $38.86 in 2010 and 2012 and $39.57 in 2011, 2013 and 2014.
Prices have remained flat even as Kentucky football has seen unprecedented facility growth in recent years. Just last September, Commonwealth Stadium reopened after a $126 million renovation. And beginning this fall, the team will enjoy a state-of-the-art $45 million practice facility adjacent to Commonwealth.
Low ticket prices and the facility foundation built over the last three years are possible because of the revenue from football season ticket sales. Football season ticket sales serve as the financial backbone of both the football program and the department as a whole, with revenue from new premium areas in Commonwealth and the continued generosity of K Fund donors serving as critical supplements.
