- Freshman center fielder Tristan Pompey homered to right field in the second inning, scoring Riley Mahan. It was Pompey’s second home run of the series and seventh of the season. Mahan had reached on a single.

- Junior third baseman JaVon Shelby hit his SEC-leading 12th home run in the third inning, a three-run blow that scored Evan White and Zach Reks in front of him. White and Reks had singled.
- Sophomore first baseman Evan White delivered a single up the middle in the third inning, extending his hitting streak to 11 games.
* It is his second double-digit hit streak of the season, as he had a 21-game stretch from March 4 to April 3.
