Jasmine Camacho-Quinn Named SEC Freshman of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn was named Southeastern
Conference Freshman of the Week
on Tuesday.

Camacho-Quinn ran 12.73w aided by a +2.1 m/s wind, to win the 100m hurdles and
score 10 points for UK, leading the Wildcats to the win at one of the nation’s
top scored meets, the LSU Invitational.

Camacho-Quinn’s time is the second fastest qualifying time
recorded by a collegian this season, leads the SEC and is tops in the nation
among freshmen. 

The time is one of the fastest hurdles times recorded by a
freshman in recent seasons. 

Quinn is the second Wildcat to earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors this
outdoor season. Kianna Gray picked up the accolade on April 5. Quinn was named
SEC Runner of the Week – which all SEC athletes are eligible for regardless of
year in school – on March 22.

Kentucky will host the Kentucky Relays on Saturday before the SEC Championships
May 12-14.
