Team Records and Series Notes

• Kentucky is now 24-15 overall, 10-8 in the Southeastern Conference.  Arkansas is 24-16 overall, 6-12 in SEC play. 
• UK head coach Gary Henderson is 250-189 in his eighth season. He is the fastest coach to 200 wins in program history.
• Arkansas leads the series, 39-25.  
• Next for UK: the five-game homestand resumes Tuesday vs. Dayton and Wednesday vs. Miami (Ohio). Both games are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

• Kentucky is 16-7 at home this season.
• UK is 6-8 in April.
• UK is 16-14 when facing a right-handed starting pitcher.
• UK has a 20-7 record in day games.
• UK is 9-2 on Saturdays.

First Game

• Senior right-hander Dustin Beggs made his 10th start of the season, 24th of his career.  
• Beggs went the distance for his first complete game as a Wildcat.
• He was the hard-luck losing pitcher, allowing only two runs on five hits, striking out one and walking one. He sustained his first loss of the season, with his record now 7-1.
• UK is 8-2 this season when Beggs starts, 16-8 in his career.
• Sophomore first baseman Evan White has made a team-leading 81 consecutive starts. 
• Junior third baseman JaVon Shelby made his team-leading 143rd career start.  Shelby drew a walk in the second inning and stole second base.  He is 5-of-5 in stolen bases this season.
• Riley Mahan had both of UK’s hits during the game. He had a single in the fourth inning and a double in the seventh. It was Mahan’s 12th multi-hit game of the season.

Second Game

• Kentucky came from behind in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring two runs for a 5-4 victory.
• With two outs and runners on first and third, Dorian Hairston hit a high chopper in the middle infield. A hustling Riley Mahan beat the play to second base, enabling pinch runner Storm Wilson to score from third and tie the game at 4-4.
• Catcher Troy Squires followed with a line drive into the right-center field gap, easily scoring Mahan from second with the winning run.
• For Squires, it was the second-consecutive weekend with a game-winning hit. On Sunday, April 17 at Vanderbilt, Squires’ bases-loaded double provided all three runs in UK’s 3-0 win over the Commodores.
• Senior right-hander Kyle Cody made his 10th start of the season, 38th of his career.  
• Cody went 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out four with one walk.
• UK is 8-2 this season when Cody starts.
• The Kentucky bullpen was superb in relief of Cody. Zach Logue, Zach Strecker, Logan Salow, Zach Pop and Sean Hjelle combined to pitch 1 2/3 innings, allowing no runs while striking out two.  Hjelle faced the final batter in the top of the seventh and was credited with the win. The freshman is now 3-0 on the season and lowered his ERA to 0.66.
• The RBI double by freshman OF Tristan Pompey in the second inning is his seventh two-bagger of the season. He added a single in the sixth inning, giving him his sixth multi-hit game of the season.
• Senior OF Dorian Hairston hit a two-run homer to center field in the fourth inning. It is his fourth home run of the season.
• Junior designated hitter Gunnar McNeill had a pair of singles, his 13th multi-hit game of the season. McNeill started the game-winning rally with a single to lead off the bottom of the seventh.
• Sophomore first baseman Evan White has made a team-leading 83 consecutive starts. 
• Junior third baseman JaVon Shelby made his team-leading 145th career start.
