No. 20 Kentucky Rounds out Home Slate with Texas A&M, LSU

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s tennis program will conclude its home matches this weekend, facing No. 10 Texas A&M on Friday, April 8, at 5 p.m. before rounding out its 2016 regular season home slate on Sunday, April 10, with a match against LSU at 1 p.m. Both will take place at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.
Sunday’s match will include a pre-match senior day ceremony for the Wildcats lone departing senior, Kevin Lai. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the presentation.
Last time the Wildcats took to the courts, the team split matches in a doubleheader, first dropping a 4-2 decision to No. 5 Ohio State before sweeping Xavier, 4-0. Sophomore Ryotaro Matsumura highlighted the day, going 2-0 on the top two courts during Wednesday’s matches.
Kentucky enters Friday the 20th-ranked team in the country, boasting a pair of singles players in William Bushamuka and Matsumura ranked among the country’s best. Bushamuka comes in at No. 25, while Matsumura ranks No. 52 after a short unranked stint.
The 10th-ranked Aggies boast three ranked singles players in Arthur Rinderknech (No. 21), Shane Vinsant (No. 44) and Jordi Arconada (No. 125). The Cats will face two ranked opponents Sunday in LSU’s Jordan Daigle (No. 79) and Justin Butsch (No. 95).
UK athletics marketing, in conjunction with the men’s and women’s tennis programs, is excited to announce the launch of The Wildcat Advantage, Kentucky’s new tennis fan club. Members can accumulate points to trade in and receive prizes by signing in at matches they attend for both the men’s and women’s teams. Members will also be signed up for an email group to receive reminders of upcoming tennis matches. Members of The Wildcat Advantage can earn a point by signing in at each tennis match and can earn additional points for signing friends up for the club. Prizes include The Wildcat Advantage t-shirts, Papa John’s pizza coupons, and exclusive tennis experiences throughout the season.
