Women’s Soccer Signing Class Ranked No. 8 Nationally

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer
signing class that was announced earlier this month on National Signing Day has
been ranked as the No. 8 class in the nation according to TopDrawerSoccer.com
in its annual signing class rankings.

The ranking of No. 8 overall nationally is the
second-highest of the Jon Lipsitz era at Kentucky, second only to a No. 3
national ranking for the class of 2012. The class of 2011 was ranked No. 10 in
the nation on National Signing Day – which was his third year at the helm of
the program.

Kentucky announced the addition of 10 student-athletes to
the class on Feb. 8 in which Lipsitz called the class “by
far the most athletic class that we have ever brought in. The eighth-year head
coach at Kentucky continued to say that the athleticism “should help us in
playing an exciting, attacking brand of soccer. We expect a huge impact from
this class, and the fact that the class is being recognized nationally already
isn’t surprising considering what are expecting going forward.”

Kentucky opens the 2016 season on the west coast August 19 at Long Beach
State before an August 21 showdown with Pepperdine in Malibu.
