?    Kentucky snapped a three-game losing skid with a 70-58 win over LSU at Memorial Coliseum on Sunday. 

?    The meeting was the 45th all-time between the two programs, with UK moving to 13-32.  With the victory, the Tigers have not won a contest in Lexington since 2009.

?    With the win, UK moves to 16-6 on the season, including 5-6 within Southeastern Conference action.  LSU drops to 8-16 (2-9 SEC).

?    Matthew Mitchell is in his ninth season with Kentucky and the win moves him to 240-116 overall, including a 210-87 record while at Kentucky.

?    The game was played in front of a crowd of 6,110. 

 

?    Kentucky was 27-of-50 from the field for 54.0%, just the second time within SEC action that the Wildcats have shot above a .500 clip.

?    UK held LSU to 37.3% on 22-of-59 shooting, and only allowed the Tigers to take three 3-pointers, converting on one of them.  

?    Kentucky shot 47.8% from the free throw line, a season low for the team. 

?    LSU out-rebounded the Wildcats, 37-28, and finished with the edge in second chance points, 12-10.

?    UK had a 32-28 advantage in points in the paint and a 19-6 edge in bench points.

?    After scoring the first basket, Kentucky never tied or trailed LSU for the remainder of the contest.

?    The Wildcats recorded 17 assists, a team season high within SEC play.

?    Kentucky shot 56.3% from the field in the first period, with six different Wildcats scoring to help UK take a 26-10 lead.  It marked the 11th time this season that UK has held an opponent to 10 points or fewer in the opening stanza.

?    The 26 points were the most that Kentucky has scored in the first period within SEC pay.

?    Kentucky shot 55.6% in the second period, with UK holding a 37-22 edge at halftime.  

?    UK held the advantage in nearly all statistical categories:  points in paint (14-8), points off turnovers (9-6), second chance points (5-0), bench points (14-1), rebounds (16-10) and assists (11-4) at halftime.  The only advantage that LSU held was in turnovers (8-9) and blocks (1-0).

?    UK’s 56.0% from the field ties the highest shooting percentage in the first half within SEC play this year, and is the second-highest first half percentage for the entire season.

?    Kentucky ended the second period on a 7-0 run, which extended to a 11-0 run through the third period.  It marked Kentucky’s 19th run of 10-or-more points this season and held LSU scoreless for 5:20.  

?    UK had an impressive third period, shooting 72.7% from the field (8-of-11), while holding LSU to 5-of-18 for a .278 clip.

 

?    Janee Thompson recorded the third double-double of her career with 16 points and 10 assists.

• Thompson committed just one turnover, which is an SEC season low and ties her fewest turnovers for the 2015-16 season.

• Thompson has six or more assists in 12 games this season, which is the most six-plus assist games in a single season by a UK player in the Matthew Mitchell era. 

?    Maci Morris added 14 points to go with three rebounds, a steal and an assist. Morris’ 14 points are a season high in SEC play. 

?    Alexis Jennings scored 11 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

o   Jennings ended her streak of consecutive free throws at 27, which is good for the second-best string of made free throws in program history behind only Bria Goss’ run of 31 in 2014-15.
