LEXINGTON, Ky. – In preparation for the Kentucky women’s golf team’s return to the course in late January for the all-important spring season, UKathletics.com will be featuring a profile on each of the Wildcats in the “Meet the Wildcats” series. The weekly series is an opportunity to get to know a little more about the 2015-16 Kentucky women’s golf team.
The series continues this week with sophomore Grace Rose.
Rose has been a steady and improving player from the moment she arrived on campus. She has played in 13 career tournaments, including all four in the fall. She posted the low round of the season so far for the Wildcats with a final-day 67 at the Landfall Invitational. It earned her a 37th-place finish, the best of her young career.
The sister of former UK women’s golfer Ashlee Rose, Grace Rose posted four top-50 finishes in her freshman season, including a tie for 41st at the NCAA South Bend Regional. She was named to the Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
The Nicholasville, Ky., native was the 2013 Kentucky High School Athletics Association champion and region runner-up. She was named the 2013 KSHAA Player of the Year for her efforts.
