Team Records and Series Notes

? UK defeated Georgia, 64-53.
? With the win, UK moves to 13-1 on the season, including 2-1 in league play. Georgia falls to 12-4 overall, 0-3 in the SEC.
? Matthew Mitchell is now 237-111 overall, including a 207-82 in his nine seasons at Kentucky.
? Mitchell is now 83-44 in SEC play, 36-29 on the road.
? Mitchell is now 7-7 vs. Georgia, 3-3 in Stegeman Coliseum.
? Today marked the 52nd meeting in the all-time series. UGA still holds a 36-16 lead in the series, including a 17-5 advantage in Athens.
? This marks UK’s second straight win over the Lady Bulldogs.

Team Notes

? The starting lineup of Janee Thompson, Maci Morris, Evelyn Akhator, Makayla Epps and Alexis Jennings is now 12-1.
? UK led 31-21 at the half thanks to a 12-2 run midway through the third quarter. Jennings and Morris led with six points apiece. Jennings also had a game-high seven rebounds at the break.
? UK shot a season-low 37 percent from the field (19-of-51), while holding UGA to 34 percent (21-of-62).
? UK committed 22 turnovers, the second-highest total this season. The Cats’ defense also forced Georgia into 21 turnovers on 10 steals.
? Alexis Jennings and Evelyn Akhator each recorded a double-double. It’s the second time in three games the inside duo has accomplished that feat. They also each had double-doubles at Auburn on Jan. 3.
? UK held UGA leading scorer Tiaria Griffin to just three points. She entered the game leading UGA in scoring with 14.5 points per game. 
? For the second straight game Kentucky won the rebounding battle, 45-35. 

Individual Notes

• Makala Epps led all scorers with 13 points, her 10th straight game in double digits. Seven of her 13 points came in the fourth quarter. 
o Her four steals tied her season high. She also had four vs. Tennessee State on Dec. 28.
• Alexis Jennings recorded the fifth double-double of her career, her fourth this season, with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
o It was Jennings’ third-straight double-double.
o It was her fourth straight game to score in double figures. 
o Her 12 rebounds were just one shy of tying her career high.
o She is the first UK player to record three straight double-doubles since Samarie Walker in 2014.
• Evelyn Akhator notched her sixth career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. She has earned a double-double in three of her last four games.
• Despite struggling from the field on 1-of-11 shooting from the floor, Janee Thompson earned eight of her 10 points from the foul line. She hit 8-of-8 from the charity stripe, while also dishing out a team-high four assists and charting three steals.
o Has scored in double figures in all but three games this season, including two straight.
• Maci Morris followed with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc. Morris has hit at least one 3-pointer in 13 of 14 games this season.
