Team Records and Series Notes

• UK picked up its third road win of the season, downing Middle Tennessee 68-52 in Murfreesboro.
• With the victory, UK moves to 9-0 on the season.  UK has only had four other seasons in which it started out with nine consecutive victories (1980-81, 2009-10, 2011-12, 2013-14).
•  The meeting was the 18th meeting between the two programs, with UK moving to 14-4 all-time against the Blue Raiders.
• It was the second matchup against a Conference USA team, the other being a 72-39 season opener against Rice on Nov. 13.
• Matthew Mitchell is in his ninth season with Kentucky and the win moves him to 233-110 overall, including a 203-81 record while at Kentucky.

Team Notes

• UK was outrebounded for the third time this season, 40-32.
• The 68 points tied the fewest points the Wildcats have put up this season (Nov. 15 in a 68-64 OT win against Arizona State).
•  The Wildcats shot 46.7% from the field on 28-of-60 shooting.
•  UK forced three shot clock violations, the most all season.
• MTSU’s Brea Edwards, one of the nation’s top 3-point shooters, was held to just two triples on seven attempts.
• Kentucky was held scoreless for the first 2:18 of the contest.
• UK held Middle Tennessee to without a field goal for the final 4:29 of the first period.  
• The Wildcats had an 11-0 run in that time, the 13th run of 10+ points this season.
• UK had three steals and fast break layups within a span of a minute, two by Makayla Epps and one by Janee Thompson, part of a 7-0 run.
•  Kentucky ended the first half with a 35-28 advantage, outscoring Middle Tennessee in the paint 18-14 and converting 13 points off 15 turnovers compared to five points off nine miscues.

Individual Notes

• Makayla Epps led the team with 17 points, four assists and three steals.
• Maci Morris and Taylor Murray both had 10 points, with Murray adding three assists.
• Morris continued her streak of hitting at least one 3-pointer, as she has made one in each of the nine games.
•  Janee Thompson led the team in assists, with six, while also putting up nine points.
• Evelyn Akhator had nine rebounds to lead ll players to go with seven points.
• Alyssa Rice scored her first two points of the season, after sitting out the first seven games with a right foot stress reaction, with an offensive putback at 5:38 in the third period.
