?    UK secured a 92-24 victory over Jackson State inside Memorial Coliseum on Sunday.

?    The meeting was the first between the two programs, giving UK a 1-0 all-time record against Jackson State.  

?    The Wildcats are in their 42nd season of varsity basketball, holding a 742-496 (.599) all-time record. 

?    Kentucky has won 55 consecutive regular season non-conference games inside Memorial Coliseum, dating back to Dec. 19, 2008 vs. Alabama A&M. 

?    Matthew Mitchell is in his ninth season with Kentucky and the win moves him to 230-110 overall, including a 200-81 record while at Kentucky.

 

?    The victory marked the first time that Kentucky has won a contest by more than 60 points since taking down Grambling State on Dec. 29, 2013.

?    UK held Jackson State to 15.6% from the field, including 4.2% in the second half.

o   The Wildcats have not held an opponent to under 20% in a contest since Stetson shot 18.0% on Nov. 22, 2005.

?    Kentucky was one point off tying the school record for fewest points allowed, when the Wildcats allowed just 23 points in the victory over Alcorn State on Dec. 28, 2012.

?    UK held Jackson State to seven points in the second half, holding an opponent to fewer than 10 points in the second half since Florida A&M put up 10 points in the second half of action on Dec. 13, 2009.  

o   The seven points are the fewest points allowed in a half, besting the previous record of nine allowed against Charleston Southern on Dec. 10, 2004.  

?    UK forced 24 turnovers in the first half, and held the largest halftime advantage of the season (+30 points, 47-17).

o   The 17 points marked the second time this season that UK has held an opponent under 20 points in the first half, the other being Rice’s 16 points on Nov. 13.  

o   Overall, UK forced 37 turnovers, the most since forcing Appalachian State into 31 miscues on Nov. 14, 2014.  

?  The 37 turnovers were converted into 42 points, and are the eighth-most turnovers forced in program history.

?    UK outscored JSU in the paint, 44-2, and outrebounded the Lady Tigers, 50-32.  

?    Kentucky closed out the first period with a 17-10 advantage, forcing 11 turnovers and outscoring JSU 10-0 in the paint.

?    UK started out the second period with a 24-0 run, and a 31-2 run extended from the first period.

o   The 24 points marked the longest run of the season.

?    Jackson State was held scoreless in the second period until the 3:52 mark.

?    Kentucky held Jackson State scoreless in the third period until the 3:26 mark.

?    The Wildcats strung together another double-digit run between the second and third period, putting up 20 points while holding JSU scoreless from 1:42 in the second period to 3:26 in the third period. 

?    UK outscored JSU 26-4 in the third period.

?    Kentucky had another 10+ point run, going 12-0 between the third and fourth periods, as well as an 11-0 run from 7:25 to 3:53 in the fourth period.

o    The four runs of at least 10 points are the most double-digit runs that the Wildcats have had in a contest this season.

 

?      Evelyn Akhator recorded the third double-double of her UK career with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

o   Akhator had a 7-0 run for the team in the first portion of the second period.

o   Her point total marked a career high for the junior.

?      Janee Thompson scored 15 points, going 3-for-5 from 3-point range while dishing out seven assists.

?      Taylor Murray had a career-high 13 points and six rebounds, while leading the team in steals with three.

?      Makayla Epps put up 12 points and led the team in assists, with nine.

?      Alexis Jennings just missed out on a double-double, with 10 points and nine rebounds.  She also recorded two blocks and two steals.
