Meet the Wildcats: Taylor Carlson

LEXINGTON, Ky. – In preparation for the Blue/White Scrimmage on Dec. 13, UKathletics.com presents “Meet the Wildcats,” an opportunity for you to get to know a little more about the 2016 Kentucky Gymnastics team. Today’s Meet the Wildcats features freshman Taylor Carlson.
Carlson joins the Wildcats this year after competing for Aerial Gymnastics Club under the coaching of Don McPherson and his wife Patrice McPherson. She qualified for both the state and regional meet in 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010, while also qualifying for J.O. Nationals as an alternate in 2012. In 2014, she had an impressive finish at states, placing second on the floor, fourth on vault and fifth on bars for a fourth place all-around finish.

The Wildcats kick off the 2016 season with the Blue/White scrimmage on Sun., Dec. 13 at a time still to be determined. The scrimmage will serve as a preview to the 2016 season, with the season opener Excite Night set for Fri., Jan. 8 against Ball State at 7 p.m. All home meets will be held in Memorial Coliseum.
