Pregame Activities for Tennessee Game Announced

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Between the Tennessee football game, the Breeders Cup and Halloween, Oct. 31 will be one of the biggest and busiest Saturdays ever for the Lexington community. Fans coming to The New Commonwealth Stadium will be able to celebrate all three.

The day will start early, as SEC Nation – the SEC Network’s popular traveling pregame show – will air from UK on Saturday. SEC Nation will go live at 10 a.m. from the Glenn Freedom Dodge Purple Lot, located off Alumni Drive and adjacent to the $45 million football practice facility currently under construction. Tim Tebow headlines a roster of SEC Network talent that will be on site for the show.

Families will be able to enjoy Halloween activities at Wildcat Park, located outside Gate 9. Activities include face painting, temporary tattoos, arts and crafts, visits by mascots Wildcat and Scratch, and trick-or-treating. Wildcat Park will open at 3:30 p.m. before the Tennessee game, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.

Additional official trick-or-treat locations will be next to Nutter Field House at the Texas Roadhouse Countdown to Kickoff area, near the stage set up for the pregame concern next to the Glenn Infiniti of Lexington Green Lot and at guest services locations outside gates 1, 4, 9 and 12. Trick-or-treating at these locations will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Candy for trick-or-treating will be provided by Kroger and Wrigley. Paul Miller Ford, Safelite AutoGlass, Kennedy’s Wildcat Den, American Campus Communities, UK HealthCare, Appalachian Regional HealthCare, Greyhound Lines and UPS will participate in Halloween festivities, as well as the UK College of Agriculture, which will help provide decorations.

The G Funk All Stars will also play a pregame concert next to the Glenn Infiniti of Lexington Green Lot adjacent to Gate 1 of The New Commonwealth Stadium starting at 4:50 p.m. after the Breeders’ Cup Mile. There will be a break from the concert at 5:15 p.m. for the Cat Walk and the G Funk All Stars will play an encore after the Breeders’ Cup Classic at 5:35 p.m. The G Funk All Stars are a popular funk cover band that will reunite for the UK football pregame concert. Dee Jay Silver will play from approximately 4:15-4:50 p.m. between the Twin Spires Sprint and Breeders’ Cup Mile.

Near the concert stage, a large video board will be set up so fans can watch the Breeders’ Cup, which is being hosted at Keeneland on Oct. 30-31. Races on Saturday begin at 12:05 p.m. and post time for the Breeders’ Cup Classic is 5:35 p.m.

Kentucky is off to a 4-2 start to the 2015 season after its comeback bid fell short in a 30-27 loss to Auburn on Thursday. The Wildcats travel to Mississippi State on Saturday for a game that will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.

The New CWS opened in September after a $126 million renovation transformed the longtime home of Kentucky football. The stadium features a striking exterior; new concourses, concessions and restrooms; premium-seating areas; new team facilities; and a state-of-the-art recruiting room.
