UK to Host Pregame Concert for Eastern Kentucky Game
LEXINGTON, Ky. – With Kentucky’s Homecoming game vs. in-state foe Eastern Kentucky set for Saturday at 7:30 p.m., UK Athletics will host a pregame concert featuring the Bebo Baxter Band, DJ Warren Peace and Halfway to Hazard.
The concert will be held next to the Glenn Infiniti of Lexington Green Lot adjacent to Gate 1 of The New Commonwealth Stadium. Halfway to Hazard will play starting at 4 p.m., DJ Warren Peace will follow at 5 p.m. and the Bebo Baxter Band will close the concert following the Cat Walk.
Halfway to Hazard is an Academy of Country Music Award-nominated duo made up of southeastern Kentucky natives Chad Warrix and David Tolliver. Their debut single, “Daisy,” was a Top 40 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in 2007 and the duo reunited this year while raising more than $1 million for Kentucky-based charities.
The Bebo Baxter Band is a band comprised of three musicians – Paul Adams, Nathan Dilly and Bebo Baxter – that has played in and around Lexington for the last two years. DJ Warren Peace is a Lexington native who has played at both Commonwealth Stadium and Rupp Arena.
Limited single-game tickets for the EKU game are available to the public now, as well as limited season tickets and mini-packs. Tickets can be purchased by visiting ukfootballtix.com.
Kentucky is off to a 3-1 start to the 2015 season after a 21-13 defeat of Missouri last weekend. The win was the Wildcats’ first over a top-25 opponent in five seasons.
The New CWS opened earlier this month after a $126 million renovation transformed the longtime home of Kentucky football. The stadium features a striking exterior; new concourses, concessions and restrooms; premium-seating areas; new team facilities; and a state-of-the-art recruiting room.
