Jensen’s Clean Sheet Guides UK To Scoreless Draw with Wisconsin

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Freshman goalkeeper
Katelyn Jensen recorded her sixth shutout of the year on Sunday afternoon at
the Bell Soccer Complex as the No. 18 University of Kentucky women’s soccer
team drew with preseason No. 14 Wisconsin, 0-0.

With the Sunday result, Kentucky moves to
6-1-1 on the year, and remains 1-0-0 in Southeastern Conference play. UK still
is in first place in the SEC with the result on Sunday. The Wildcats are now
unbeaten in six-straight matches.

The Badgers ended up with a 12-9 advantage in
shots, but only had two recorded on goal in the match. The Wildcats had four
shots on goal and three corner kicks. Wisconsin had five corner kicks.

Freshman Sophie Babo led Kentucky on the
offensive end, with three shots and two on them on goal. She had the Wildcats’
best scoring chance of the match at the beginning of the first overtime after
being slipped through by sophomore Tanya Samarzich, but the shot was saved well
by the Badgers’ keeper.

Zoe Swift and Jade Klump both had two shots in
the match, with Klump notching two on goal. The Badgers were led by MAC Hermann
finalist Rose Lavelle in shots, with five of their 12 efforts on goal.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday night
in Tuscaloosa, Ala. against the Crimson Tide of Alabama. The match will
kick off at 8 p.m. ET and be shown live on the SEC Network+, ESPN3 and the
WatchESPN app.
