Getting to Know Your Wildcats: McKenzie Watson

LEXINGTON, Ky. – McKenzie Watson, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, is the 12th member of the UK volleyball team in the “Getting to Know Your Wildcats” series. Watson is a freshman defensive specialist.
Watson has played in all four matches so far, and made a start against No. 19 Michigan State, in which she logged five digs in five sets. She recorded a kill and had a season-high eight digs in the most recent match up with Ohio. During her senior year, McKenzie was an All-District and All-Region honoree, and in 2013 she helped guide her team to a state championship.

Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum will play host to the NCAA Regionals Dec. 11-12. UK is one of four sites selected for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups with one team advancing to the Final Four in Omaha, Neb., from the Lexington Region. This marks the third time in five seasons Memorial Coliseum will host this premier volleyball event.
