UK Men’s Basketball Adds David, Pulliam as Walk-Ons

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky men’s basketball team has added Jonny David and Dillon Pulliam as walk-ons for the 2015-16 season. With the addition of David and Pulliam, UK’s roster stands at 14 entering the 2015-16 academic year.
David, a freshman, joins Kentucky after a productive final season at Mt. Lebanon High School, where he averaged 18.5 points per game in his senior year. The 6-foot-2 guard earned all-state honors while leading Mt. Lebanon to a sectional championship.
A prolific 3-point shooter, David was a 1,000-point scorer during his career at Mt. Lebanon. The Pittsburgh native was a two-time all-section honoree.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Kentucky basketball program,” David said. “I’m also very excited to be a part of the Big Blue Nation and can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and my teammates.”
Pulliam comes to Kentucky after a season at Transylvania University. The 6-3 sophomore guard played in 25 games for the Pioneers, averaging 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
At Harrison County High School, Pulliam was a five-year member of the varsity basketball team. During his career, he made the All-10th Region Team three times, was named the district tournament MVP and was a member of the school’s 1,000-point club.
Pulliam finished his career at Harrison County fifth in career scoring, third in career 3-point field goals and set a school record for most 3-point field goals made in a game with nine.
Per NCAA transfer rules, Pulliam will have to sit out the 2015-16 season. He will be eligible starting in the fall of 2016.
“I’m excited to be a part of the UK basketball program and have the opportunity to play with other talented players under a great coaching staff,” Pulliam said. “Growing up in the state of Kentucky, I know how awesome Big Blue Nation is and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
