Countdown to First Serve: Meet Ashley Dusek

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore defensive specialist, Ashley Dusek, is the fifth Wildcat featured in the Getting to Know Your Wildcats series. Dusek hails from East Bernard, Texas and enters her second season with the Wildcats.  
Dusek was a member of the All-SEC Academic team during her freshman campaign. On the court, she appeared in all 33 matches and earned one start. For the year, she recorded 96 digs, 13 assists and 12 aces. In the NCAA Tournament, Dusek picked up seven digs and added an assist against Ohio State. In a top-25 showdown, she posted six digs and a kill vs. Florida. Dusek registered her career best with nine digs and an ace at Texas A&M a season ago.

Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum will play host to the NCAA Regionals Dec. 11-12. UK is one of four sites selected for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups with one team advancing to the Final Four in Omaha, Neb., from the Lexington Region. This marks the third time in five seasons Memorial Coliseum will host this premier volleyball event.
