UK Women’s Soccer Announces “Back 2 School” Promotion

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of
Kentucky women’s soccer team kicks off its 2015 campaign, and the 2015 UK
Athletics calendar on Friday night at the Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington. The
UK marketing department is proud to announce its “Back 2 School” campaign,
allowing all of Big Blue Nation to receive free admission to The Bell over the
weekend with a donation of school supplies at the entrance gate.

All of the supplies donated will go towards
benefiting the Lexington area’s Fayette County Family Resource Center.

The Wildcats defeated the Pitt Panthers 4-1
last week in their only preseason exhibition before opening up the season on
Friday night against No. 20 Washington. The Huskies and Wildcats opened the
2014 season in Seattle, with UW edging out UK. Kentucky returns nine of 11
starters from its team a year ago which advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first
time in program history.

Kentucky starts the season ranked No. 16 in
the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, with the
Huskies checking in at No. 20, making Friday night’s opening match one of just
three top-25 match-ups in the country on opening night.

Weather in the Lexington area is expected to
be splendid over the weekend, with the forecast for Friday’s opener calling for
82 degree temperatures, with no rain and winds 5-10 MPH.
