Countdown to First Serve: Meet Morgan Bergren

LEXINGTON, Ky. – All-America setter Morgan Bergren hails from Muncie, Ind., and enters her senior season for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Bergren led the Wildcats with 1,291 assists in 2014, the second most in a single season in program history in the 25-point rally scoring era. She also directed the UK offense to a .272 hitting percentage and a Southeastern Conference-best 14.25 kills per set, both the highest totals by the Wildcats since 2009 en route to earning second-team All-America honors as a junior.

This summer Bergren participated in the annual student-athlete and UK Athletics employees’ trip to Ethiopia as well as suiting up for the Red, White and Blue and Team USA.

Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum will play host to the NCAA Regionals Dec. 11-12. UK is one of four sites selected for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups with one team advancing to the Final Four in Omaha, Neb., from the Lexington Region. This marks the third time in five seasons Memorial Coliseum will host this premier volleyball event.
