BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Will Bishop was tabbed to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the first such honor of his career.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his or her community through superior service efforts.

Bishop led the UK men’s golf team in community service hours throughout his career. He has been active in various projects, including the UK Blanket Project in which student athletes made blankets for UK’s Children’s Hospital patients in both 2014 and 2013.

He’s also been involved with God’s Pantry and aiding in the process of packing food and delivering it to Picadome Elementary school. Furthermore, he volunteered during the National Student-athlete day, as a visitor to UK Children’s Hospital and Shriner’s Hospital for children.

Bishop is a three-time All-SEC Academic team member and he earned three top-20 finishes in his career on the course.
