Track & Field to Host 2015 Kentucky Relays

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky track and field teams will conduct their final tune up before the postseason on home turf when they host the Kentucky Relays.
The meet will be held at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex for the second year in a row after a hiatus since the early 1990s. The facility is in its third year of existence, and hosted the SEC Championships last May.
Lexington area fans have the opportunity to see the fourth-ranked UK women’s team’s multiple National Champions, in addition to its many SEC medalists and All-Americans.

Additionally fans will have the chance to see, amongst many other UK elite athletes. Raymond Dykstra — who does not compete indoors — is slated to throw the javelin one week before he seeks to defend his Southeastern Conference Title next week.
Kendra Harrison, the current SEC Runner of the Week, is scheduled to run in the 100-meter hurdles. Dezerea Bryant is slated to run the 100m.
Harrison, the reigning NCAA 60m hurdles Champion, took the NCAA lead in the women’s 100m hurdles with a winning time of 12.62 (+0.9) last weekend.
The meet will begin at 9:20 a.m. with the women’s 5k. The men’s javelin — the first college field event of the day — will be contested at 10:30 a.m.
Kentucky will honor 19 Wildcats competing at home for the last time as part of Senior Day at 4:15 p.m.
Tickets are available from the UK Ticket Office at $5 for adults, $2 for seniors (65+) and Youth (6-18).
Spectator parking will be available in the No. 7 Parking Structure across the street from the Nutter Football Training Center. Fans can validate their parking vouchers at the ticket booth.
Handicap parking will be located in the northeast corner of the R-3 lot.
The 2015 Kentucky Relays will also promote an increased fan experience, similar to what was on display at the home meets the past two seasons. There will also be a track and field legend signing autographs on the concourse during the middle of the meet.
Fans can stay after the meet to watch SEC baseball action inside the adjacent Cliff Hagan Stadium as Kentucky will take on defending national champion Vanderbilt in the second game of a three-game set at 6:30 p.m. The Kentucky Relays are scheduled to conclude by 5 p.m.
