AWENDAW, S.C. – Two Kentucky men’s golfers rank among the top 10 on the individual leaderboard following two rounds of play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. Junior David Snyder sits in a tie for fourth, while freshman Tyler `Chip’ McDaniel ranks ninth.
Both of UK’s players ranking in the top 10 carded a 1-under 71 on day two of play at the Bulls Bay Golf Club. Snyder posted four birdies on the day, including logging a 2-par score on the par-3 17th hole. Snyder has tallied eight birdies through 36 holes of golf. McDaniel notched his second-consecutive 71 at the tournament which featured five birdies on the afternoon. He and Snyder have player under-par golf for three-consecutive rounds dating back to the Schenkel Invitational.
For the tournament, Snyder is currently at 5-under par, while McDaniel boasts a 2-under par score.
Kentucky logged a 293 round for the day to finish in 11th with 18 holes remaining on Tuesday.
Fifth-ranked South Carolina owns the team lead through the first two days of play. Duke, New Mexico, Auburn and GRU Augusta round out the top five.
Freshman Cooper Musselman logged a 2-over par 74 and currently sits in 38th place overall. Sophomore Stephen Stallings owns a 65th place standing, while freshman Cristian DiMarco sits in 74th.
The teams will resume play on Tuesday with the final round of 18 holes. Stats are available online at golfstat.com.
