Three Compete for UK on Final Day of NCAA Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa — For the first time this weekend, all three Kentucky qualifiers competed on the final day of the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday in Iowa City, Iowa.
Sophomore Brandon Fly competed in the 1,650 freestyle, his third event in as many days, while fellow sophomore Kyle Higgins raced in the 200 butterfly after he made his NCAA debut yesterday. Freshman Levi Lindsey competed on platform Saturday in his first career NCAA diving event.
Higgins opened the day in the 200 butterfly and finished 27th overall. He touched the wall in 1:43.83 and came just shy of matching his seed time and season-best time of 1:43.36.
Lindsey made his NCAA debut on platform and earned a score of 230.90 in the six dive completion. He finished with a 230.90, highlighted by a 67.50 on his second dive.
Flynn, who was making his second career NCAA appearance, raced in the 1,650 freestyle. The sophomore finished 35th overall with a time of 15:37.33.
