AWENDAW, S.C. – Junior David Snyder carded a 4-under par to lead the Kentucky men’s golf team on the opening day of Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. Snyder’s score places him in a tie for fifth on the individual leaderboard.

UK’s junior leader has now carded a team-leading nine under-par rounds. He’s led the Wildcats in scoring throughout every tournament this spring and got off to a great start this week. He played flawless golf with four birdies and not a single bogey on the day.

Freshman Tyler `Chip’ McDaniel carded a 1-under par 71 to place in a tie for 15th overall through the opening 18 holes of the three-day tournament. McDaniel carded three birdies on the afternoon.

Freshman Cooper Musselman sits in a tie for 32nd overall after totaling a 1-over par 73 on the day. Sophomore Stephen Stallings is tied for 66th, while freshman Cristian DiMarco, making his first collegiate start is 75th. Kentucky is currently in 10th place overall with an opening-day score of 291.

Missouri leads the field with a 277 score. South Carolina (280), Coastal Carolina (282), New Mexico (284), Auburn (285), Duke (286), Virginia (286), Wake Forest (287) and GRU Augusta (288) round out the top 10 with the Wildcats.

The teams will resume play on Monday with another 18-hole round. Stats are available online at golfstat.com.
