Women's Tennis Falls at Auburn, 4-1

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 18 Kentucky women’s tennis suffered a 4-1 loss at No. 49 Auburn to conclude a weekend trip to Alabama on Sunday.
Facing their third ranked opponent in their last four matches, the Wildcats (15-7, 6-3 Southeastern Conference) saw their four match winning streak come to a close. UK lost just its second SEC road contest of the season.
UK’s point vs. Auburn came courtesy of Kelsey Dieters at No. 3 singles. Dieters downed Emily Flickinger, 6-3, 6-3 after the Tigers opened up a 3-0 lead.
Kentucky lost the doubles point, as Aldila Sutjiadi and Mami Adachi fell to No. 10 Pleun Burgmans and Flickinger, 8-3 on court No. 1. Edmee Morin-Kougoucheff and Dieters posted an 8-7 (7-4) win on court three, but Nadia Ravita and Kirsten Lewis lost a heartbreaker on court two, 8-7 (7-3).
In singles action, Taylor Lederman opened with a 6-3, 6-0 loss at court No. 6 before Ravita fell to No. 68 Burgmans, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. After Dieters’ win, Adachi lost on court four in three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2.
When play concluded, Sutjiadi owned a 6-3, 6-6 lead at No. 2 singles and Lewis was down 7-5, 5-2 on court No. 5.
UK returns home for senior weekend, vs. Florida on April 3 at 6 p.m. ET and a senior match contest vs. South Carolina on April 5 at Noon.
